this is tough…and so public….but I am going to bite the bullet and be the first to nominate…..
    ashley from eat me, delicious
    anne from anne strawberry
bridget from the way the cookie crumbles

these are just three of the over 100 blogs I love to look at every week….it sure does take a lot longer to get around!

  2. Caitlin Says:

Ookay, because I love the colors of her pics – LyB of And then I do the dishes – Beautiful, eye popping photos!

  3. Shari Says:

This is tough because there are so many to choose from, but here are my picks for this week:

    • Occasional Baker by Julius – I like the 2-part angle, great tips at the end of the post
    • Café Johnsonia by Lindsey– beautiful piped whipped cream on top
    • Canela & Comino by Gretchen– fun creative post

  4. Michelle Says:

    Abby Sweets
    The Picky Apple
    A Year From Oak Cottage

  5. Donna Says:

It’s tough to pick when there’s so many to look at. I want to give everyone a chance, but that means getting past the B’s & C’s first.
I’m going to start at the bottom and work my way up this time.

  6. carrie Says:

    The Way the Cookie Crumbles
    Whisk: A Food Blog
And Then I Do the Dishes

  7. Mary Ann Says:

This is hard- I had to look through a few, multiple times. I really liked so many, but this week
    Canela & Comino
    Mevrouw Cupcake
    A Year from Oak Cottage

  8. Whitney Says:

My vote is for Lisa of Bumblebutton.

  9. CB Says:

I think I’ll wait til tomorrow to nominate for any procrastinators (like me)! LOL

  10. Beth G Says:

I’m going to second Ashley of eat me, delicious! SO BEAUTIFUL!! Still taking in all the yummy tarts, everyone did an awesome job :)

  11. (Wow–thanks for the nomination, Shari!)

I love the creative takes I’ve seen on the recipe–

    Peabody’s–with blackberry and lime
A Year At Oak Cottage–layered orange tart
Spatulas and Corkscrews–beautiful presentation with white chocolate stars

  12. Winnie Says:

I really love Cafe Johnsonia by Lindsey. And Culinary Concoctions by Peabody

  13. bridget Says:

    I’m going to nominate:

Whisk: a food blog by Shari, because her tarts are beautiful, her garnishes are creative, and I love the comparison of regular and Meyer lemons.

Engineer Baker by Caitlin, because she was smart enough to reduce the butter in the lemon cream, and she still got great results.

Carrie’s Kitchen Creations, because I’m intrigued by her caramelized lemon peel garnish.

  14. mari Says:

    Joy the Baker
    Café Johnsonia
    Ezra Pound Cake

  15. carrie Says:

    Unrelated to OSI but…
I just want to say I did it, I went to every single TWD blog this week (I think). Phew! That could be a full-time job! Since the group is growing all the time I doubt, like many others, I’ll be able to get to every blog, every week. I am very glad to have been able to get through them all, even if it was just this once! We have some very talented members of our group! I really enjoyed the blogs! Thanks everyone!

  16. LyB Says:

I went to all the blogs this week too, but I’m not sure I saw everyone’s post about the tarts. Everyone posts at a different time (normal!) and not every member of the group participates every week. I just wish there was a way to know who does participate and when they post. I’ll vote for the secret ingredients a bit later, I haven’t decided who to choose yet!

  17. Donna Says:

Thanks for the nomination Lindsey! I’m blushing!

I agree with Carrie & LyB. It has been a full time job this time around! I went to everyone’s blog and it took a looooong time, but I’m glad I did. I’m sure I missed some really great posts due to timing, etc. I really should write down who hasn’t posted and then go back to them later. Chances are they’re up and running and I can’t remember who they were.

I took notes as I went through, but by the time I was done, I had 15 favorites! That’s just not fair to make us choose only 3!

  18. nikki Says:

Would it be possible for people to leave comments under the completed recipes section to let everyone know that they have participated/posted? Or, not to make more work for Laurie, but, what about a separate section for everyone to post comments in letting the rest of us know who has participated for that week. You could also base the OSI nominations from that list each week to narrow it down a bit and encourage people to participate weekly! Just a suggestion… :)

  19. Christina Says:

I would like to nominate Madame Chow!

Also I’d like to nominate a Year from Oak Cottage!

    YAY!

  20. mary Says:

i’m still going through…..wouldn’t it be the perfect job if we could get paid????

  21. Melissa Says:

Di’s Kitchen Notebook because I think her tarts were the cutest of the week!

  22. Rachel Says:

    I’m nominating:

    Whisk, a food blog
And then I do the dishes
    Starting from scratch

    Love these blogs!

  23. I’m voting for Cafe Johnsonia (so well proportioned and with a delightful cream border);
Madam Chow’s Kitchen – a pretty oblong tart with a perfectly golden crust; and Occasional Baker (really stunning presentation of both lemon and orange pie in one combo). From Sherry Trifle.

  24. CB Says:

Can we nominate ourselves or is that just pretentious? ;)

  25. Dolores Says:

I nominate Rebecca of Ezra Pound Cake. Because this group needs bakers who aren’t afraid of butter fat.

And Julius of Occasional Baker. Because I *never* fail to learn something from his posts.

And Mary of Starting from Scratch. Because she chose a delightful duet of recipes this week.

  26. LyB Says:

I just have to say, I had a really hard time choosing who to nominate, I really am no good at taking decisions! Everyone who participated this week did a really nice job, I enjoyed going around and seeing all the lemony (and orangey) goodness you all came up with. Here goes, I nominate:

    The Barefoot Kitchen Witch
    Di’s Kitchen Notebook
    I Heart Food 4 Thought

  27. slush Says:

    slow like honey

(Ill come back with 2 more later. Short attention span here.)

  28. CB Says:

LyB, aawwww me? really? You totally made my day!

Sorry I tried but I couldn’t narrow down to 3 so here are my 6! (In no particular order…hehe)

    http://canelaycomino.blogspot.com
    http://cafejohnsonia.blogspot.com
    http://diskitchennotebook.blogspot.com/
    http://www.thepickyapple.com/blog/
    http://www.whiskblog.com
    http://burnedbits.blogspot.com

  29. Di Says:

Wow, I didn’t expect to get several nominations. Thank you! I nominate Cafe Johnsonia. I’m still trying to come up with two more (there are so many good ones…)

  30. Julius Says:

Thanks to Heather Peskin, Dolores and Shari for the nomination. Warms my heart. =)

There are so many great blogs on TWD; unfortunately, I haven’t seen them all, so I will decline nominating until next week, when I will try to see all blogs.

    Julius from Occasional Baker

  31. Ashley Says:

Aw thank you Mary and Beth!! :) Very sweet of you guys. I’ve been bogged down by school and other things so I unfortunately haven’t had the chance to check out many of your tarts yet. :(

  32. Danielle Says:

With so much talent and creativity, it is so hard to choose just three. For this week, I give a nod to:

And then I do the dishes
    Cafe Johnsonia
    Occasional Baker

I figured the drool I had to wipe off my mouth from looking at their tarts was a good indicator that they topped my list.

  33. Lauren Says:

Thanks (D&L) for the thumbs-up. I’m still reading through all the weeks entries. Is the deadline firm?

  34. Donna Says:

    Oh crap! It’s Friday…Am I too late?

It was so hard to choose because we’re picking on the blogs that caught our eye, not necessarily their Lemon Tarts, right?

This is my list (keep in mind I started out with 15!)

*Joy The Baker because her background in a commercial kitchen almost mirrors mine, and I can appreciate that.
*Starting From Scratch by Mary because Her “galley” is almost as small as mine and yet she still creates beautiful food.
*Canela & Comino by Gretchen because her blog is bright and colorful and it inspires me.
*The Barefoot Kitchen Witch by Jayne because her kids are a big part of her food blog and that tickles me.

    Oops! That was four…Sorry!

  35. Shari Says:

Thanks Carrie, Bridget, Rachel & CB for the nomination!! There were so many great takes on the Lemon Tart. I can’t wait to see what everyone does with marshmallows. :)

  36. Chelle Says:

I’m late too, but my nominations are:

    slow like honey
    Food, Family, and Fun

  37. mary Says:

i’ve been complaining all semester that I have nothing to be proud of…not making straight A’s like usual, can’t race because I hurt my knee, the weather is gray and gross and never ending, and so on….well, I am officially proud to have a few nominations! I’m not competitive (nor should this be) so nominations pretty much do it for me! thanks guys! Long live TWD!!

  38. LyB Says:

I totally agree with Mary, those nominations made my day! Thanks guys! :)

  39. carrie Says:

    Yay! I got a nomination!
    Thanks Bridget! :)
