My Baking Adventures for the awesome s’mores; Sugar & Spice for a beautifully executed (and photographed) classic marshmallow; and the person who made the caramel swirl marshmallows (I can’t find your blog now to nominate you by name!). They looked scrumptious.
Congratulations, everyone, on trying out this recipe. For many of us, it was a toughie.
Phe/mom/enon- I love the look of the two toned marshies and they sound scrumptious!
Starting from Scratch- I was wishing that I could reach into the computer and actually taste all the flavors!
A Whisk and A Spoon- the hot chocolate looked divine and I loved how big and fluffy the marshmallows turned out
Again, this was a difficult job, but here are my picks:
* Starting from Scratch by Mary – She was the most ambitious of the crew and made 7 that all look delicious.
* Maple Sugar Desserts by Rebekka – I loved the look of her perfectly dipped dark scharffen berger chocolate with a mint sprig.
* Phe/MOM/enon by Holly – Her “split personality” marshmallows are absolutely beautiful.
Phe/Mom/enon – for the split personality marshmallows
Les gourmandise d’Isa – for her beautiful strawberry marshmallow-strawberry skewers
Chez Us – for giving us vanilla, chocolate and BANANA marshamallows!
Laurie, I’m confused. Are we nominating the blogs that inspired us the most this week and caught our eye, or the best looking marshmallows? I thought that was the plan. There were many marshmallow disasters, but the rest of their weekly blog posts made up for it.
I can’t possibly choose right now. I fear there are too many that will be missed. There are my favorites, but I need to be fair and check all the entries. Who knows, maybe some we haven’t seen before?
Just like Donna, I thought that the voting will be for how good the marshmallows are.
Any way I’ve made a marshmallowy chocolate mousse with the translation in english, if you like to use some of the marshmallows you’ve made, this recipe is for you.
As for my nominations: I will post them as soon as I finnish visiting the participating blogs.
The nominations are weekly as in whichever blogs you’re picking for the week. It can be whatever reason you feel personally works : The Best Looking, The Funniest, Whatever Works. This is all about community and telling us about blogs you think everybody should take an extra special visit to that week. If you find a particularly spectacular disaster, nominate that too!
The all purpose girl by Yolanda- the swirls are just captivating and beautiful!
Delimoon by vero- I just think her pics look nice and the marshies are fluffy and well made!
I thought it was for the particular weekly recipe so I 2nd phemomenon and all purpose girl! Fabulous pictures and great creativity with their marshies! Makes me want to bust out my candy thermometer and try their recipes.
I’m sorry. I confused everybody. I didn’t mean marshmallows or the lemon tart. I was looking back to the original post and found this:
“Pick the blogs that have caught your eye this week and put their names up here so we can tally up the votes. Remember, a blog can only win once a month so keep that in mind when picking your true loves.”
So, just like you said, lemontartlet, I thought we were nominating the blog that caught our attention, that inspired us for a longer look, not necessarily for the “dessert of the week”.
Disasters can be inspiring too!
just on account of the TWD post.. my vote is for Mary from Starting from scratch! i lurve the variety and the exotic combinations for her marshmallows!!!
I nominate “Starting from Scratch” for its variety of colors and flavors; Phe-MOM-enon for the marbled marshmallows and Maple Sugar for the beautiful mint chocolate covered and white marshmallows.
Again, it’s all about community people. The point is there’s no hard and fast rules about why you nominate a blog to be featured this week, we just want to have some fun and get to bring to light all sorts of bloggers who make up our community. Don’t stress, just have fun with it!
I’ve yet to participate (next week, hooray), but I’d like to vote anyway, if that’s alright. My vote goes to A Whisk and a Spoon. I loved the way she handled the gelatin thing. Also, I’m a dedicated coffee enthusiast, so the cappuccino variation was appreciated.
If you would like to bake along, as we bake our way through BFMHTY, email us at tuesdayswithdorie AT gmail.com. Please include your name and blog url. We'd love to have you!

Danielle from daniellebilton I love the close-up photo with her hands shaking off the marshmallows and the counter full of cornstarch.
Lindsey from Cafe Johnsonia because I love the her photo tutorials and this week was filled with how-to’s about all sorts of things.
