I made it last week and thought it was pretty good. I used fresh blueberries, so it had a nice blueberry flavor, but I thought the sour cream flavor was very strong. It was good ice cream though. Easy to make and I didn’t run into any problems.
I made it today and agree with Erin that the sour cream is strong. It was really easy to make and had a nice texture, but it was very, very blueberry for me. I think the hubby will love it though.
I LOVED this ice cream. I used lime zest and juice from a whole lime. It came out tasting like a cross between key lime pie and blueberry cheesecake. Jaos loved it too. Its killer. I cant wait to try it again with another fruit. YUM!
I made mine last week because i got confused and got my weeks mixed up :) . But it turned out really good. I am glad it only made a small amount because I don’t think I could sit there and eat it all. I ended up adding some yogurt to mine because I was short on sour cream and it turned out nice.
I made mine today and I am ABSOLUTELY in love with it!! Which was a surprising reaction for me, I had my doubts about this one, but I really love the flavor and texture
I used creme fraiche which gave a lighter sour cream flavour. I also used fresh blueberries too. I’m actually going to make this again in the next couple of days!
I made mine with a mix of strawberries and raspberries and it was amazing! Rather sour than sweet though, but I like my berrie ice creams to be that way.
I didn’t have an ice cream maker so I did it the David Lebovits way (link was given here) and it turned out fine. The ice cream was creamy and smooth and delicious!
I made this a couple months ago, and while I loved it (to me, it tasted like blueberry cheesecake!), my husband didn’t – so I’m not sure I’ll be making it again. :( Unfortunately, I didn’t take pics last time. I might make it just so I can blog it – but there’s nobody to eat it with me!
There was too much sour cream for my dad and I, so I would cut it back to 1/2 cup next time. It made the ice cream too rich, so I could only eat a little bit at a time. I also used blackberries instead of blueberries. And David’s old school method really does work :)
My first thought, upon tasting it was, oooh, sour cream! But it’s actually grown on me. The tartness of the sour cream goes well with the sweet berries. I had to make up my 1 cup of blueberries with some pluot (plum+apricot hybrid) since I didn’t have enough.
i thought the blueberry and sour creams flavors were just right but my hubby thought the flavors were too strong and suggested using the same amount of blueberries/sour cream but doubling the rest of the ingredients…. i was so happy with this recipe, my first time making ice cream!! :)
I made this today and we had it tonight with Dories devilish shortcakes. We really liked it. I used frozen wild blueberries and light sourcream. Yummy.
Anybody try Fage or similar Greek yogurt instead of sour cream? I went the tried-and-true route, but it seems like that would be a good healtier replacement.
This is my first week, so I’m glad the recipe was an easy one. Both it and my pictures turned out beautifully. Although the sour cream element is unusual, it didn’t stop me from sampling it throughout the day!

Mine ended up tasting too much like yogurt. It was good, but mostly I got sour cream and lemon. Pretty color, though.
I’ll be making this tomorrow. Looking forward to my first TWD! :)

I’ve made this before and topped it with homemade hot fudge – AH-ma-zing!

Mine is in the freezer, but I don’t know how it will come out…I had to improvise a bit since I couldn’t find our ice cream maker, drat.
i did the david’s old school method as well. It works! the ice-cream was gorgeous…

I liked the flavors so much I made it with strawberry, too! yum.
Just posted my sour cream blueberry ice cream creation on my blog. Used honey and vanilla and less sour cream. Tasted divine.
