Recipes for October

This is an eclectic month, which I love. Something for everyone!

October 6- Garrett of Flavor of Vanilla picked Split Level Pudding, pages 384- 385.

October 13- Kayte of Grandma’s Kitchen Table chose Allspice Crumb Muffins, pages 16-17.

October 20- Erin of Prudence Pennywise selected Sweet Potato Biscuits, page 26.

October 27- April of Short + Rose decided on Cherry-Fudge Brownie Torte, pages 284-285.

Bake on!

  1. Fall is in the air!

This is so perfect for me! I’ve already made the Allspice Crumb Muffins and the Sweet Potato Biscuits! Both are very good.

I think I’m going to try my hand again at the sweet potato biscuits because I think I could have done a better job. They were pretty flat.

You will all love the allspice muffins. They turn out just like Dories look in the book and they are so fragrant and delicious!

Here’s what mine looked like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/projectdomestication/3368658088/

I am most excited for the Cherry-Fudge Brownie Torte! It sounds divine! I’m excited for the marscarpone!

  2. I don’t think i’ll be doing the pudding one, but the rest look GREAT! I just don’t like pudding and nobody in my family does, so not much use for that one.

  3. I will be traveling in October, so will have to pass on the pudding, muffins, biscuits and, alas, the torte. I will catch up at a later date. Have a great time baking! See you in November.
