I loved these! They are not too sweet and totally dark chocolate. The spice that comes from the black pepper is wonderful. Mine were even darker because I took a chance and used some black cocoa powder I got from the King Arthur Flour store on vacation. Totally fun!
The salt and pepper can be a little subtle if you are a big fan of salt and pepper in your baked goods. I increased both and the shortbread was well received by my tasters.

Don’t miss out on these. They are very cool.
They have a totally different texture than the last slice & bake cookie — powdery. They melt in your mouth.

They’re almost as irresistible as the World Peace cookies…almost. I rolled the logs through some superfine sugar and cinnamon!
Can’t wait to try these! I’m not a shortbread fan, personally, but all my office-mates love them.
And I’m SUPER jealous that Becky O. got to see the King Arthur Flour store!!! I love that catalogue so much.
LOVED these. Pepper is a little subtle, but I could taste the salt. I might have chocolated them up a bit. ;)
