I couldn’t find any pre-cut butternut squash, but a medium-size whole one was more than enough for this recipe. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract, because I’m slightly obsessed with almonds. It was fabulous!

Nicole, maybe you could divide the recipe in half and instead of using a smaller pie plate (do they even exist?), make 2 4-inch tartlets?
yes, i have a couple of small pie plates (one glass, one metal), so i’m planning to cut this recipe in half and make it in one of those.
