May 1 – Hungarian Shortbread hosted by Lynette of 1smallkitchen and Cher of The Not So Exciting Adventures of a Dabbler…
May 15 – Pecan Sticky Buns hosted by Lynn of Eat Drink Man Woman Dogs Cat and Nicole of Cookies on Friday
There are three Tuesdays in the month of May, but we figured we’d stick to our original goal of two recipes per month. I vote that you can use the third Tuesday to catch up if you happened to miss a recipe this year. I’ll post a P & Q extra and a LYL for ya!
Congratulations to the hosts! I’m really looking forward to making both of these recipes!
Excited to be hosting this month – any recipe that features rhubarb is a winner in my book :-)
Hi there,
Just to confirm, is the Hungarian Shortbread for May 1 or May 8? The post asking for hosts says May 8, but this one says May 1.
Thanks!
It’s the 1st. I must have had a brain freeze for that one.
Oh noooo…glad you clarified the date. I thought it was the 8th. I’d better get busy!!
Wow! I’m so excited to be hosting, especially for the Hungarian Shortbread. And as always, I’m looking forward to what everyone else does with the recipe.
iluvsweets, forgive me if I’m missing it…but, where is your blog name listed to host? Thanks.

Thanks! :)

I love the idea of a catch up post for the extra Tuesday! Thanks.
Just made the sticky buns–neighbors upstairs asked how much butter was in. I told them I used less than the recipe called for, and he asked ‘so I should butter it, right?’
Duh! Of course! ;-)
love the catch-up opportunty! perhaps i’ll take on a missed BFMHTY recipe.
Oh, I don’t believe it. Me as a Hungarian I missed the hosting of the Hungarian shortbread. :((( On the other side I am so happy that it was chosen in the beginning. :)))
I’m looking forward to joining for the first time in May. Not sure where to mention this, but hte recipe schedule page needs to be updated.
I’m going to have to skip the sticky buns bc I don’t have a stand mixer to make the brioche dough :( it’ll be first on my list when I do get one!
I’m new here, and I’m not sure what your policy is on substitutions of any kind. I was wondering if it would be kosher for me to substitute duck eggs for chicken eggs?
I don’t speak for TWD officially, but I would say “anything goes.” I’ve been trying to at least stick to the spirit of the recipe. I don’t think I’ve ever had a duck egg. Do they taste much different?
I’ve been away for a couple of weeks and just discovered I am hosting the Sticky Buns – so excited. And I started my buns yesterday!
Wow! a 3rd posts on May! I could go back and make the chocolate tartelets or white bread … or both of them!!! yuhuiiii
