Recipe Nominations, please. October is around the corner!

I know.  It’s freaking me out a little.  What would you like to bake in October?  Three Tuesdays in October mean two scheduled recipes and one make-up (for slackers like me).

What would you like to see scheduled?  Please respond with one or two recipe choices and a page number.

Thanks!

    • I think it’d be great to count something like bagels and their schmear as one recipe. As an example, the Oasis Naan we’ve made listed some optional accompaniments.

  1. I’d love to make Madeleines p.333-334. I got a pan for Christmas and haven’t had the chance to use it yet! Canberry-Walnut Pumpkin Loaves on page 108-109 would also be a wonderful seasonal choice!

  2. How about something chocolate-y and boozy and creamy ? Boca Negra pp 253-4.

Another bread-ish thing would be good too… Country Bread pp136-7, or the already mentioned Bagels pp 87-89 (with one or more spreads as optional)

  3. Cranberry-Walnut Pumpkin Loaves (108-9) seasonal and a nod to Canadian Thanksgiving
Alsatian Onion Tart (426-7), which have the added benefit of giving us experience with another of the foundational recipes, Puff Pastry (46-49)

  4. Ooh, the cranberry -walnut pumpkin loaf (page 108) sounds good.
About to watch a Baking With Julia (They are on PBS here every Saturday–love it!) and Marcel Desaulniers is about to make Chocolate Mint Nightcaps (pages 309-310) (cookies!) that look delish.

  5. I would save the Boca Negra for the holiday season. I may pull it back out for The holidays using a bit of peppermint in the white chocolate topping.

Havings said that, the cranberry walnut pumpkin loaves sound good as does anything with apples since they should be coming into season!
