  1. Fresh asparagus is coming up in California now, how about Savory Brioche Pockets ? pp. 421-422
    and for a sweet Fresh Rhubarb Upside-Down Baby Cakes, pp. 244-246 to take advantage of rhubarb stalking gardens and farmers’ markets.

  2. I also like the idea of using what is in season but fear that our rhubarb won’t be ready yet here in dreary old Wisconsin. Maybe the asparagus pockets and a muffin? Perhaps the Buttermilk Crumb Muffins on p. 207 or even the blueberry ones on the next page?

  3. Last month we made croissants and this month we baked bread, so how about Swedish Oatmeal Hardtack – p. 162 – p. 163?
