Would you like to host in April?

The Recipe Schedule for April is as follows:

April 3, 2012- Pizza Rustica, pages 430 and 431.

April 17, 2012- Lemon Loaf Cake, pages 252 and 253.

Reminder: The job of the Host is to post the actual recipe on your blog. All members then link to your blog for the week.

We need 2 hosts for each week. If you are interested in hosting, please comment below with your choice, Pizza Rustica or Lemon Loaf Cake.

Hosts will be selected randomly. (Most likely names in a hat because our comments are not numbered.) Remember once you host, you move to the end of the line to allow others the same chance.

One last day to throw your hat in the ring. Comments will close on this post on 3/18/12.

This is a NO CHAT post. All chatter will be removed.

Recipe Nominations for April

Things ran very smoothly last month, if I do say so myself, and I do say so myself. :)

For anyone who may have joined since last month, this is how nominations will work:

We ask for nominations. An executive committee will review the nominations. One simple and one more difficult recipe will be chosen to be featured the following month. Next week, we will ask for volunteers to host said recipes on another post. A host for each recipe will be chosen by random number generator from the list of volunteers.  Once you have hosted, you move to the back of the line to give others the same chance.

Easy peasy.

Enter your recipe nomination for April in the comments below. Please include page numbers. Recipe Nominations will close on 3/13/12.

Please leave Recipe Nominations only. This is a NO CHAT post.

Friendly Reminder

I realize we have a lot of new folks to the group this go round. So, I thought I should give a friendly reminder that we post only on scheduled Tuesdays. This month, TWD posts should only be posted on March 6th and March 20th. If you post after the scheduled date, no worries. However, no one should be posting before the scheduled date. The point of this group is to bake and post together.

If you have questions about this rule, please ask them below.

Thanks and Bake on!

LYL: White Loaves

It’s that time! Welcome to the first recipe of Tuesdays with Dorie: Baking with Julia! I hope you all overcame your fear of yeast and came out with beautiful golden loaves of bread. I am so anxious to see how they all turned out.  (The beauties shown below are Laurie’s loaves.)

This week Jules and I have the honor of sharing hosting duties. You can link to either of our blogs. The recipe, which Jules typed up, is on her blog.  Our posts will go live sometime early in the morning (like 1:00 am CST) on Tuesday.

My blog is slush and Jules is Someone’s in the Kitchen.

Leave the link to your TWD post in comments below.

Tweet Tweet

Hey yall,

There are a bunch of ladies on twitter who like to have live bake-alongs. I thought we should go ahead and give everyone an opportunity to broadcast their twitter name. No pressure if you like your tweets private and what not.

TWD is @TuesdaysWDorie, and I am @superslush. I will let Jules add hers in comments if she wants to share. ;)

Bake on!

Baking with Julia: February Recipe Schedule

The first month of Baking with Julia is here! We have been looking forward to the start of the new book since fall, and here we go. I hope you like the recipes we have picked for the first month.

February 7, 2012- White Loaves, on pages 81-82. (Hosted by Laurie and Jules)

February 21, 2012- Chocolate Truffle Tartlets, on pages 382-383. (Hosted by Steph, Spike, Jaime and Jessica)

From here on out, recipes will be picked by nominations and lottery for hosts. Everyone will have a chance to host that way. We will try to choose one simple and more difficult recipe per month. Look out for a recipe nomination post at the beginning on February.
