LYL: Nectarine Chiffon Upside Down Cake

Aaaaaaah!  It’s Tuesday!  Sorry folks, Labor Day messed with me.

Thank you Marlise and Susan for hosting.   The recipe and gorgeous photos on their blogs!

This is the deliciousness that was found at Marlise’s house.

This was at Susan’s house.  My invitations must have gotten lost in the mail.

***Side note – Links sometimes take a minute or two (or ten) to show up.  When you post multiple times, Blogger assumes it is spam and none of it posts.

September hosts!

Here they are…

September 4 – Nectarine Upside-Down Chiffon Cake – Marlise of The Double Trouble Kitchen and Susan of The Little French Bakery

September 18 – Whole Wheat Bread – Michele of Veggie Num Nums and Teresa of The Family That Bakes Together

Looking forward to these!  Hosts, could you please send a photo a day or two ahead of time to our gmail account so I can have them to post with the LYL post?  Thanks!

Hosts for July!

July 3, 2012- Hazelnut Biscotti, p. 315 hosted by Jodi of Homemade and Wholesome and Katrina of Baking and Boys

July 17, 2012- Semolina Bread, p. 102 hosted by Renee of The Way to my Family’s Heart and Anna of Keep it Luce

July 31, 2012- Blueberry Nectarine Pie, p. 384 Hilary of Manchego’s Kitchen and Liz of That Skinny Chick Can Bake

I know there was a little stress for some folks because we opted for three Tuesdays this month.  No worries everyone!  As long as you bake along with at least one of these, you are eligible to host.  And if three recipes are too many for you, do what you can.

Bake on!

July Recipes! Anyone out there anxious to host?

I am super stoked about this month. I have vowed to make one pie per week for the entire summer. This is to remedy the fact that I am an absolutely horrible pie maker. When I say horrible, I mean it. (This is Laurie, not Jules, I am sure Jules is a fab pie maker. I just know she is.) I was so excited that several pies/tarts were suggested for this month. However, we did not want to overload the month on sweets, so there is savory as well. Happiness for all!

July 3, 2012- Hazelnut Biscotti, p. 315.

July 17, 2012- Semolina Bread, p. 102.

July 31, 2012- Blueberry Nectarine Pie, p. 384.

If you would like to host one of these recipes (two needed each recipe), please throw your name in the hat by leaving a comment below.  This is a NO CHAT post.  I’ll close this post on the 22nd and announce the hosts on the 23rd.

LYL: Oasis Naan

Leave your links here, folks!  I can’t wait to see how these turned out for everyone!

Here is Maggie’s fabulous photo:

You can find the recipe at her blog – Always Add More Butter  – or at Phyl’s  blog – Of Cabbages & King Cakes

Quick reminder – this is for links only.

What are we making in June? Nominate here!

It’s that time of the month again!

Just to review:  We ask for nominations. An executive committee will review the nominations. One simple and one more difficult recipe will be chosen to be featured the following month. Next week, we will ask for volunteers to host said recipes on another post. A host for each recipe will be chosen by random number generator from the list of volunteers.  Once you have hosted, you move to the back of the line to give others the same chance.

Pick something good!

Enter your recipe nomination for May in the comments below. Please include page numbers. Recipe Nominations will close on 5/17/12.

Please leave Recipe Nominations only. This is a NO CHAT post.

LYL: Hungarian Shortbread

This beauty is from Cher of The not so exciting adventures of a dabbler…

And two last reminders. 1) This is a NO CHATTER POST.  Links only, please.  2) Sometimes links and/or comments end up in our spam folder.  We get to it as soon as we can to approve them.  Please only leave one link or comment.  If you still don’t see it a few hours after posting, shoot us an e-mail so we can approve.  THANK YOU!
