Sorry for the delay, without further ado…
August 4– Mary of The Food Librarian chose Classic Banana Bundt Cake on page 190.
August 11– Jayma of Two Scientists Experimenting in the Kitchen selected Brownie Buttons pages 106 and 107.
August 18– Karen of Something Sweet by Karen picked Applesauce Spice Bars on pages 117 and118.
August 25– Linda of Tender Crumb decided on Creamiest Lime Cream Meringue Pie on pages 337-339.
There isn’t one of these that doesn’t sound great to me. Good choices folks!
Thanks, Laurie! I can’t wait to get started on these!!
Hahahaha – Oh Mary, why am I not surprised you picked a bundt? Yippee!
mmmm- I am loving these choices!
Great picks- I have previously made 3 of the 4 and if you want to make the Lime Cream with less butter, it is possible and still tastes great.
How much less Mary Ann? Im interested in cutting back on the butter. Let me know what you did.
I actually only used 3 Tbls of butter. So, I cut out 2 sticks. It really tasted good to me and everyone else who ate it. I just couldn’t add it all, after making the lemon cream.
It was still thick and had great flavor.
Oh yummy! What great picks everybody!!
Wonderful! Mary, how did you know I have a bunch of very ripe bananas in the freezer, just begging to be used up? And the other recipes sound great too!
I’ve been out of the loop for the month of July, but I absolutely cannot wait to dive into these recipes!
Yum! I’m so excited and always love seeing the new choices!
The brownie buttons are SO good… yum… can’t wait!
WSooHoo!!! All of these look great.
And each one easily miniaturized!!!!
What great choices, thanks everyone! Thanks Laurie :)
Wow…August already! My, how time flies. Some delicious choices on here, that’s for sure!
The bundt cake section of Baking has been neglected since I joined TWD and I’m so happy to see one!
I am SO excited for all of them, but I have especially been eyeing the lime pie and the applesauce bars! I can’t WAIT!
These are wonderful choices! I can’t wait to get started!!!!
Yes! All are perfect for the transition into Fall (which I cannot WAIT for!)! :)
i’m so excited! I am looking forward to ALL These recipes.
yay!! am i’m soooo happy we finally have a bundt!!
yay!! and i’m soooo happy we finally have a bundt!!
Me too! Now I have a good excuse to go out and buy the bundt pan I’ve been wanting!
Hmmmm, not sure I’m going to have a skip week this month!
These really sound great! It should be a fun month!
My bananas are in a paper bag with an apple…. ‘ripen, ripen!’ Why is it that you can never find over-ripe bananas in the store when you need them? Great batch for this month! I agree – perfect segway into the fall months!
So is the banana bundt cake more like a cake or a banana bread in cake shape? I’m trying to decide when to make it and serve it.
I would say it is definitely more like cake. more dessert worthy than, say snack or something.
It won’t last long, whatever you decide to do with it.
