I made these a few months ago and I think orange would work beautifully. In fact, I think you have inspired me.

This was the first recipe I made from Dories Book. It is a family favorite. I think I will try the orange version, in a mini pan.
I “healthified” these since I am still doing my month without butter thing. I used white whole wheat flour, low-fat buttermilk, non-fat greek yogurt and a little canola oil instead of sour cream and butter. They turned out really good.
I made 1/2 of the recipe and got 24 mini muffins.
I love lemon poppyseed muffins. So exited to make these!
These were delicious but mine turned out more like biscuits than muffins.
Mine were very much like biscuits too!

Made these today, but I didn’t have any poppy seeds. I filled with some raspberry jam. I also skipped the muffinv tin and used mini loaf pans. Still tasty though!
My advice is to spread the yummy lemon glaze on the entire muffin. They are incredible!!
I made them this morning and they’re really good. I subbed yogurt for the sour cream and the texture seemed fine. I used muffin papers to line the pans and I would recommend not using them, since the glaze dripped on the papers.
