Baking with Julia: February Recipe Schedule

The first month of Baking with Julia is here! We have been looking forward to the start of the new book since fall, and here we go. I hope you like the recipes we have picked for the first month.

February 7, 2012- White Loaves, on pages 81-82. (Hosted by Laurie and Jules)

February 21, 2012- Chocolate Truffle Tartlets, on pages 382-383. (Hosted by Steph, Spike, Jaime and Jessica)

From here on out, recipes will be picked by nominations and lottery for hosts. Everyone will have a chance to host that way. We will try to choose one simple and more difficult recipe per month. Look out for a recipe nomination post at the beginning on February.

  1. Yes…bread! Oh, and don’t think I am not excited about that chocolate choice as well…lol. That said, Mark and Matt will love the chocolate choice. Such fun to get started again.

  2. I have been out of the baking game for a while, but I am excited to see this post. Looking forward to both recipes, and especially looking forward to getting my baking groove back.

  3. I’ve owned this book for several years and have only baked a few things out of it…It will be nice to put the book to work! Looking forward to baking with all of you!

  4. I too am excited about this! Though I’m not quite sure how it works???
Bake from the book, post on my blog…. then what? Comment here that it is posted to my blog?

    • There will be a weekly ‘Leave your Link’ post, called the ‘LYL’. It will go up every Tuesday. You leave your link there and thats how others will find you. :)

  5. I’m excited to start up with the group this time around! I’m not much of an experienced baker, so this is just what I need to keep me learning =)

  6. Hi! So excited for a ‘Round 2’. I’m going through the book, excited to begin! Please consider this my registration as I do not see the sign up. Maybe because I’m on iPhone instead of my iMac right now.

  7. I have just signed up. I’m taking a pastry course at a culinary school here in DC and hope that the skills I’m learning in class will help me complete the great recipes in this book.
    Cheers, Patty

  8. Kansas represented, here…. Others in this wheat-producing state??? My mail carrier brought my book in yesterday’s mail- and I handed her a warm mini-loaf of Oatmeal molasses bread in appreciation…. She’ excited about the class and volunteered to be a taster! :) Have baked for years, always working to broaden skills and create consistent results- this opportunity is the best!! Looking forward to it!

As a side, I’ll be entering the world of blogging. Tis going to be a mighty fine year!!

    “good crumbs” to all!
    Carol

  9. I love this book. It has been a great resource for years, but I’ve not used it like I want to. This group gives me the perfect opportunity and great bakers to give me ideas and help me out when those occasional failures happen.
I’m excited!!! And my family is excited even though they don’t know it yet.
