*Dorie chose her Rose-Hibiscus Shortbread Fans on page 191 as her Cookies & Kindness selection this month. We tackled this one as a group back in February, but if you didn’t get a chance to make it then, feel free to make it in place of either of our other recipes.

AND, Dorie’s Cookies just won the James Beard Foundation Book Award for the baking and dessert category!  That’s pretty great news and I think we’ve already made enough recipes to see why she received the medal. You can read more (and say congrats if you’d like) here.

We don’t yet have Dorie’s Cookies and Kindness selection for January, but I did want to post that one of our recipes to welcome 2017 will be World Peace Cookies (pages 335-337).

***UPDATE – funny enough, the #cookiesandkindness recipe comes from Baking Chez Moi!  It’s her Olive Oil and Wine Cookies.

Feel free to make and share this one, but since it’s not from DC, our second selection will be Breakfast Biscotti (page 98). This was Dorie’s #cookiesandkindness recipe from October. If you already made and blogged about the biscotti at that time, recycling or linking to an older post is, of course, just fine.

BWJ September/October Schedule

I can’t believe it, but we’re down to the last two recipes in the book!  If you’ve ever participated in TWD BWJ and want to celebrate reaching the end of this journey, we’d love for you to jump back in with us.

Here’s how this will play out…

For September, our only recipe will be Brioche (pages 188-190).  You may post on either of our dates, September 6 or September 20.

This will give us extra time to assemble the Glorious Wedding Cake (pages 293-306)!  The farewell posting date for the wedding cake is the first Tuesday of the month, October 4.

P&Qs will go up shortly.
